1. App Identity and Functionality

Ambiom is a high-fidelity ambient sound player available as a desktop application (built with Tauri) and a web application. The app allows users to listen to curated ambient sounds, mix tracks, and create custom playlists. We are committed to transparency regarding the data we process and why we need it.

2. Purpose of Data Collection

We collect data strictly to enable the core functionality of Ambiom. We do not sell data to advertisers or third parties.

  • Authentication: To identify you and secure your account (using Supabase and Google OAuth).
  • Playlist Synchronization: To allow you to access your playlists on different devices.
  • Personalization: To remember your app preferences (volume, repeat mode) for a better user experience.

3. Data We Collect

3.1. Tauri Desktop Application (Local Data)

The desktop version of Ambiom stores data locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly sign in and sync playlists.

  • Audio playback history (current session only).
  • User preferences (volume, equalizer settings).
  • Local caches for performance.

3.2. Account Data (Cloud)

If you choose to create an account, we store the following data securely in our database (Supabase):

  • Email Address: Used for account identification.
  • User ID: A unique identifier linked to your account.
  • Playlists: The names of your playlists and the associated sound IDs.

4. Third-Party Services & Libraries

4.1. Google OAuth

We use Google Identity Services solely for user authentication Sign in with Google. We do not access your Google Drive, Gmail content, or Contacts. Google provides us with your Name and Email address to create your profile. Google handles the authentication process according to their Privacy Policy.

4.2. Supabase (Backend)

We use Supabase for hosting our database and authentication infrastructure. Data is stored in compliance with GDPR and CCPA standards. You can review Supabases data handling here:Supabase Privacy Policy.

5. Your Data Privacy Rights

You retain full control over your data.

  • Access: Request a copy of your data at any time.
  • Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data permanently.
  • Opt-out: You can use the desktop app without an account, in which case no personal data is collected or sent to our servers.
